I am raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support on a Charity Trek to the Lost City of the Incas in Peru. My minimum target is £3,000. Itinerary: Day 1 Fly to Lima;Day 2 Fly to Cusco to adjust to altitude;Day 3 Hike 5 hours to Sacsayhuaman;Day 4 Hike 6 hours to Mt.Veronica (5ooom);Day 5 Hike 8-12 hours climb from 2700m to 4200m to Pacamayo;Day 6 Hike 8-10 hours mostly up steps! (Great!!!!) to Winay Wayna;Day 7 Hike 3 hours to The Lost City Machu Picchu;Day 8 Free Day in Cusco;Day 9 Return to UK
I've been in touch with some of the other people taking part in the trip next year through the forum at justgiving.com. They all seem to be doing very well with their fundraising and are all looking forward to taking part. Having said that they've put the frighteners on me by telling me about the rather unpleasant effects of altitude sickness!!!!

In May 2007 I took part in a Charity Fund Raising Challenge to Peru and raised over £5,000. on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support. I found the whole experience invigorating, challenging and very rewarding, so I have decided to sign up for a similar challenge, but this time in Nepal.
