Another week nearer to departure day!!!! Seven weeks and counting. I've booked my flights from Manchester to Heathrow and have been getting the rest of the kit I need. I bought a sleeping bag at the weekend - hopefully the comfort temperature of -6 will be enough keep me warm! I might even buy a fleece liner as a safeguard - nothing worse than being cold in bed. I've also bought a rucsac on ebay but am waiting for it to arrive.
Im really starting to feel the benefits of fitness training - went for a ten mile hike at the weekend over the moors and up and down hills and still had enough energy afterwards to do a load of digging in the garden!!!! Still going to the gym twice a week and have lost quite a few pounds and toned a few muscles. Haven't heard from the Doctors yet about my injections - better give them a ring.

Sounds like I might need diptheria, hep A, tetnus, polio, typhoid, yellow fever; rabies and malaria tablets. I went to the Doctors yesterday to find out about the vaccinations that I will need. Left them the holiday form so should hear from them shortly. I'll probably feel like a pincushion by the time they've finished with me.

I was talking to Suzanne at Crossleys the other day about her sky dive from 10,000. feet and about how high it was. I then got to thinking "How high is the highest point on my trek?????" Mmmmmm, the highest point is Dead Womans Pass. It will be 13,779 feet. Talk about walking in the clouds. I might even need a parachute!
